Jamaicans living overseas are being encouraged to reconnect with their roots and play an active role in the nation’s development by attending the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference, scheduled for June 14 to 18 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St. James.
The conference, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, will bring together members of the Jamaican Diaspora, government officials, business leaders and stakeholders to discuss issues critical to Jamaica’s growth and resilience.
Under the theme of strengthening partnerships and advancing national development, the event is expected to provide opportunities for networking, collaboration and meaningful engagement between Jamaicans at home and abroad. Organisers are encouraging members of the Diaspora to make the journey back to Jamaica, whether as a temporary visit or as part of a longer-term commitment to contributing to the country’s progress.

The official launch of the conference celebrated Jamaica’s rich culture, heritage and achievements while highlighting the important role the Diaspora continues to play in national development. The event also underscored the value of maintaining strong connections between Jamaicans overseas and their homeland.
As Jamaica continues its efforts to build resilience and create new opportunities for growth, the conference is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue, investment, knowledge sharing and partnership building. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions on a range of issues affecting the nation while exploring ways to support Jamaica’s future development.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade is encouraging Jamaicans around the world to register and attend, reinforcing the message that the Diaspora remains a vital part of Jamaica’s journey forward.
The 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference will take place from June 14 to 18 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre under the call for Jamaicans abroad to come home, reconnect and help build a stronger future for the country.
